FAQs

Q?

Your posts are tagged with Level 1, Level 2 and/or Level 3. What do they stand for?

A.

Dragon boating, like most sports, attracts a wide range of people seeking different things from the sport. This site wishes to cater for all dragon boaters, so we are tagging the posts which are relevant to the following category of paddler:

  • Level 1 - a rookie or someone who paddles solely for the social aspect and a little bit of fitness. Enjoys racing. Trains 2-3 times a week.
  • Level 2 - a paddler who wishes to strive to win the local competition and be a state representative. Trains 3-5 times a week.
  • Level 3 - a paddler who wishes to exceed at the sport at the highest level. World club championships or international dragon boating events. Trains 5-6 times a week.

Q?

Can anyone be a contributor to your site?

A.

We decided early on that the contributors would be people who have skills or knowledge in areas that would prove useful to the dragon boat fraternity. So in answer to the question, we have a limited number of positions for contributors and we screen applicants for those positions to ensure they have something to offer. All visitors to this site, however, are more than welcome to comment on any post in this blog.

Q?

How can you afford to run this site, provide this information and give away the services?

A.

We can't! We eventually wish to make the services on this site available as part of an annual subscription. Initially we wish to prove the worth of Dragon Analytics by providing the services free for a short time. The blog will always be free.
